MAGA Senate Candidate’s Aide Is Far-Right Extremist

The Daily Beast reports:

At first glance, Caleb Oriet’s social media accounts seem typical of a young member of the fringe, online right, featuring likes and reposts of far-right influencers and white nationalists expressing incendiary and bigoted views about racial and religious minorities. But Oriet isn’t just a denizen of the far-right fringes of social media. He’s also a staffer for one of the Republican Party’s top candidates to flip control of the U.S. Senate this year.

According to Federal Election Commission filings, Oriet is being paid by the campaign of Tim Sheehy, who is running against Sen. Jon Tester (D) in Montana. Beyond his social media activity, he espoused hard-right, Christian Nationalist views during public presentations, a media interview, and an effusive comment on a book written by a Nazi-supporting Italian fascist thinker.

All of Oriet’s social media accounts were deleted hours after the Daily Beast inquired with Sheehy’s campaign.

Outside of his social media posts, Oriet reportedly has ties to a group supportive of avowed neo-Nazi Nick Fuentes.

He’s also given a speech at a far-right Montana church titled, “The Need For Christian Nationalism.”

Rather than disavowing Oriet, the Sheehy campaign sent an email attacking the Daily Beast as a “trash New York tabloid that no one reads.”

Earlier this month the Washington Post revealed that Sheehy had apparently lied about a “war wound” he claims to have suffered in Afghanistan.

In fact, per the Post, Sheeny was shot when he dropped his gun at national park.
