Billboard Magazine reports:
French duo Justice made an appearance Thursday night in New York City as the surprise headliners of Frank Ocean’s Prep+ launch party.
Taking place at Basement, Knockdown Center’s underground venue, the event was the first in a series of queer club nights described as an “homage to what could have been of the 1980s’ NYC club scene if the drug PrEP had been invented in that era.”
The event advertised a no-photos/video policy, but clips (and, of course, many tweets) trickled through social media channels throughout the night, especially during Justice’s set.

Actually, the NYC club scene was amazing during ACT UP’s heyday. It was our escape from some hard shit, and our way to bond as we changed the world. Oh, and everyone was invited.#FrankOcean @PrEP4AllNow https://t.co/a3opRMQvDJ

so I’m at the frank ocean prep party and I guarantee you nightlife during the epidemic was far better than this.
mind you there’s no sex, no prep navigators, no community orgs. not sure what he was trying to do here.

I went to PrEP+. Then talked to @BadFatBlackGirl, @_PaigeCole, @goldenpolaroid, @writelikeryan and an anonymous friend. We all love Frank Ocean, but we all also had thoughts. https://t.co/7jDpNwgDfY for @outmagazine

I want to discuss what went down last night at basement. I love this concept of creating a space that is like an imagined reality where the aids epidemic didn’t take so many beautiful souls from us. But to book justice? I have NO issue w/ justice, but they do not draw a queer…

..crowd. They are straight, white, cis men + that is the crowd they apparently attracted. Very few queers. And the most insulting thing is that one gay man actually had his PrEP+ confiscated before going in. I adore Frank Ocėan and this concept, but it completely missed the mark
