Trump Abruptly Cancels Visit To Atlanta CDC HQ

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports:

President Donald Trump’s planned trip to Atlanta on Friday to visit the headquarters of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has been postponed because he didn’t want to get in the way of the agency’s work, White House officials said.

The president was set to land at Dobbins Air Reserve Base around 3 p.m. after a trip to tornado-ravaged Tennessee, and a media advisory late Thursday outlined details of his arrival.

But the visit was left off a travel agenda sent later that night, and a White House official said Friday it was postponed because he doesn’t want to “interfere with the CDC’s mission to protect the health and welfare of their people and the agency.”

Trump WILL be at a Mar-A-Lago fundraiser tonight.
