Shots Reportedly Heard In Capitol, Cultists Take Senate Dais, Confederate Flag Waved, Mayor Declares Curfew

ABC News reports:

Shots were reportedly fired as lawmakers are being evacuated from the U.S. Capitol while pro-Trump demonstrators swarmed the building. ABC News reported that there was an armed standoff at the House front door. Police told House members that they might need to duck under chairs. Lawmakers were also told to “be prepared” to relocate to cloakrooms. Both chambers abruptly went into recess.

Trump had since tweeted and had not condemned the demonstrators. Washington D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser ordered a citywide curfew starting at 6 p.m until 6 a.m. Thursday. The skirmishes came just shortly after Trump addressed thousands of his supporters, riling up the crowd with his baseless claims of election fraud at a rally near the White House on Wednesday ahead of Congress’ vote. “We will not let them silence your voices,” Trump told the protesters.
