Virginia Gov Shrugs Off Talk Of 2024 White House Bid

The Hill reports:

Virginia Gov. Glenn Youngkin (R) said on Sunday he was “hugely humbled” by people calling on him to run for president in 2024 but said he has not come close to making such a decision. “That’s not a decision that we have even begun to undertake,” Youngkin told CBS “Face the Nation.”

The Washington Post reported late last month that Youngkin privately met with Republican megadonors in Manhattan, saying it was a hint of a potential 2024 run. He has also formed a political action committee, called Spirit of Virginia, to get involved in races in the commonwealth and other states.

Fox News reports:

The Republican governor of Virginia delivering a speech Saturday is not remarkable. Except, he’s making it in Nebraska. Glenn Youngkin’s unusual trip to the Cornhusker State is beginning to draw attention as rumors swirl of a potential 2024 GOP presidential bid.

Political strategists say the trip has sparked speculation given Nebraska’s proximity and overlapping media market with Iowa, the first state to hold a contest in the presidential primaries. Nebraska’s largest media market, Omaha, sits across the river from Iowa.
