Cincinatti’s NBC affiliate reports:
Interstate 71 in Ohio was shut down Thursday morning in both directions and there was a lockdown in effect after shots were fired in the area. The Clinton County Emergency Management Agency said there was an armed suspect in the area of State Road 73, Smith Road and State Road 380.
Multiple news outlets are reporting a suspect armed with a weapon was at the FBI building in the city making threats. The person then fled the scene and drove toward Waynesville, Ohio, reports said. Some witnesses reported the person was seen firing at authorities from a corn field.
This apparent threat comes after some people have been using violent rhetoric in the wake of the agency’s search of former President Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago home.
