The Washington Post reports:
The Georgia prosecutor investigating whether Donald Trump improperly interfered in the 2020 presidential election filed court papers Friday to obtain testimony from Michael Flynn, Trump’s former national security adviser, and former House speaker Newt Gingrich.
Fulton County District Attorney Fani T. Willis also requested testimony from other potential witnesses including former White House lawyer Eric Herschmann.
The requests to compel testimony were filed on a day that marked the beginning of a “quiet” period for Willis’s investigation in advance of the midterm elections. Willis asked that Flynn, Gingrich and others testify in mid- to late November, a sign that the inquiry will be in high gear after the election.
