The Houston Chronicle reports:
A Houston area doctor and prominent GOP activist was kicked out of a Texas State Senate session on Thursday after he insisted upon calling all transgender people and their supporters ‘pedophiles.’ Video captured an escalating exchange between Democratic Sen. José Menéndez and Houston M.D. and Republican backer Steven Hotze.
“Doctor Hotze, I know you’re a medical doctor and a professional. I would just ask you to refrain from calling people pedophiles, because I don’t think the doctors that have come before us today are pedophiles,” Menéndez said to Hotze in the video.
Hotze wrongly labeled gender affirmation therapies backed by the U.S.’s top medical association as “perversions”—Menéndez told Hotze that “[trans people] are not pedophiles, they’re living as their true selves.”
The Daily Beast reports:
Hotze responded, “By definition, they are pedophiles.” Hotze was asked to leave, though not until he said “that’s bullshit” in response to Menédez’s criticisms of his rhetoric. “Doctor Hotze, we don’t use that kind of language. You’re excused,” Republican state senator and committee chair Bryan Hughes said.
Hotze last appeared on JMG in September 2022 when he explained how COVID vaccines are designed to connect people to the internet “so you can be mind-controlled by artificial intelligence.”
In August 2022 we heard from him when he won a Texas ruling that may imperil insurance coverage for PrEP medications nationwide.
In April 2022, Hotze was charged with two felonies related to a bizarre 2020 “voter fraud search” incident. That case remains pending.
Hotze also appeared on JMG in 2020 when he left a voice mail for Texas Gov. Greg Abbott, telling him to “shoot to kill” Black Lives Matter activists.
You may recall that Steven Hotze has compared gays to “communist termites” eating away at America’s moral fabric. He is also fond of declaring that it’s now a hate crime to denounce homosexuality.
It was Hotze who bankrolled the successful campaign to repeal Houston’s “wicked, evil, Satanic” LGBT rights ordinance, during which he compared gays to rapists and murderers.
According to Hotze, same-sex marriage will result in children “practicing sodomy” in kindergarten.
In 2017, he appeared here when he “prophesied” that God will deliver “just retribution” to lawmakers who vote for LGBTQ rights.
When he’s not calling on God to kill politicians or for the governor to kill Black Lives Matter activists, Hotze makes his living sells “miracle” supplements because high cholesterol doesn’t really cause heart disease.
In 2020, the FDA sent Hotze a warning letter for selling a “Teen Immune Pak” that he falsely claims is an effective treatment for COVID.
Hotze regularly quotes QAnon slogans.

Want to know what kind of language gets you dismissed from the TX Senate’s public testimony? Because it isn’t calling all trans people pedophiles over and over again.
