Megachurch Pastor Charged With Felony Assault Of Woman In CA Road Rage Incident After Fender Bender

The Chicago Sun-Times reports:

The former pastor of a Rolling Meadows church has been charged with felony battery and assault in California. James Macdonald, who was fired from Harvest Bible Chapel in 2019, was arrested March 22 in Coronado, California, after he allegedly attacked a 59-year-old woman.

He was trying to parallel park his truck about 10:15 a.m. in the 900 block of Orange Avenue when he struck the woman’s car. The two exited their cars, and he “attacked” her, according to Coronado police.

The woman was taken to a nearby hospital, where she was treated for serious injuries, police said. Macdonald, 62, is charged in San Diego County with one felony count each of battery causing serious bodily injury and assault with force likely to produce great bodily injury.

The Roys Report reports:

The alleged attack comes four years after MacDonald was fired from Chicago-area megachurch, Harvest Bible Chapel, for “engaging in conduct . . . contrary and harmful to the best interests of the church.” Prior to his firing, TRR had published numerous articles, documenting MacDonald’s alleged bullying, spiritual abuse, and financial misconduct.

Chicago radio personality Mancow Muller had also broadcast a vulgar “hot mic” recording in which MacDonald joked about planting child porn on the computer of a Christian media executive. Later, Muller and MacDonald’s former bodyguard told TRR that MacDonald had asked them to find a hitman to kill someone.
