The New York Post reports:
Despite facing multiple calls to resign from both parties over a series of lies about his personal and professional life, the Republican congressman has “called big donors and sat down with supporters and believes he can raise $500,000 to $750,000 in the second quarter of 2023,” said a person close to Santos.
“Many of us Americans are willing to accept all sorts of resurrection, perhaps Representative George Santos will be another,” said entrepreneur Josh Eisen, a top Santos donor — who declined to say whether he would back him again. The party is all but certain to run a vigorous primary challenge against him.
Axios reports:
Rep. George Santos’ (R-N.Y.) campaign finances are in a dire state, as the embattled Long Islander has had a net loss of $3,000 so far this year, according to Federal Election Commission filings.
Santos raised about $5,300 in the first three months of 2023 but refunded roughly $8,300 to donors during the same period, according to the filings.
Santos also owes $715,000 from loans he reported making to his campaign last cycle — the subject of considerable public scrutiny and an FEC probe, given his questionable personal finances.
GEORGE SANTOS will announce on Monday that he is running for reelection, according to the @nypost’s @LevineJonathan.
Santos “believes he can raise $500k to $750k in the 2nd quarter of 2023.”
But he is expected to face a vigorous GOP primary challenge. https://t.co/8uNoJ9CYSU

Dire straits for George Santos, reports @AndrewSolender.
He reportedly plans to announce his reelection bid as soon as Monday, but he only raised about $5,300 in the first three months of 2023 while refunding roughly $8,300 to donors in the same period.https://t.co/agHgMJIEPS
