The Tulsa World reports:
The Oklahoma Supreme Court on Wednesday tossed out two state laws outlawing abortion. The state’s high court found that Senate Bill 1503 and House Bill 4327 were unconstitutional. Both measures were passed and signed by Gov. Kevin Stitt in 2022.
Senate Bill 1503 would have banned abortion when a fetal heartbeat was detected, which is usually at six weeks and before most women know they are pregnant. It has an exception for a medical emergency, but does not define it.
House Bill 4327, described as the most strict abortion ban in the country, bans the procedure at conception and allows for civil suits where a plaintiff could be awarded a minimum of $10,000. It is based on a Texas law.

Here is the Oklahoma Supreme Court’s 6–3 decision striking down the state’s total abortion ban as well as its six-week “heartbeat” ban. (Dissents included.) https://t.co/0HPFDTN7TL pic.twitter.com/gY59HtI3Bq

The Oklahoma AG appears to believe that abortion remains illegal in the state under a 1910 criminal ban, which tees up another challenge at the Oklahoma Supreme Court. It strikes me as … unlikely that this court will allow that law to be enforced.https://t.co/sH4pG2DM17

We applaud the Oklahoma Supreme Court for protecting the rights of Oklahomans while the GOP supermajority tries to overstep their bounds. Thank you to the Oklahoma Call for Reproductive Justice and the Tulsa Women’s Reproductive Clonic for bringing these challenges forward! pic.twitter.com/fSW3HuoW9I
