Congress Minutes reports:
House Republicans are already running into what will likely be a key point of contention on government funding: What to do about the Justice Department and FBI. The issue came up Tuesday when GOP leadership huddled with a group of lawmakers that represent a cross-section of the conference.
The meeting, according to GOP lawmakers in attendance, underscored the looming division within the conference about how to fund the government, as Republicans prepare to support funding levels significantly below a debt deal Speaker Kevin McCarthy made with the White House.
Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.), who was in the meeting, told reporters afterward that she was not speaking for McCarthy but “the conference as a whole is not going to reward the Department of Justice for targeting conservatives all over America.”
