New Hampshire Nazi Arrested On Capitol Riot Charges

ABC News reports:

A suspected neo-Nazi from New Hampshire has been arrested in connection with his role in the Jan. 6 insurrection. According to court documents, Richard Zachary Ackerman stole a U.S. Capitol police helmet and affixed a sticker affiliated with the “New England 131” white nationalist group during the riot.

Ackerman flew to Germany in July 2021 and returned to the U.S. the following month, when he was questioned by U.S. Customs and Border Protection and admitted to being in Washington on the day of the insurrection, the filing said. He also admitted to finding the helmet but denied taking it home.

He also had a photo of himself wearing the helmet and confirmed to someone identified as “Aunt Jen” that he had stolen it during the riot. “I stormed the capital, & I grabbed a helmet off of the SWAT team,” he said. “I ripped a chair out of the office & circled it around… it ended up getting thrown at the police.”

From the Justice Department:

Court records say that Ackerman found a U.S. Capitol Police helmet and put it on. Later in the day, while wearing the helmet, Ackerman is accused of throwing a water bottle toward the entrance to the tunnel, where a line of police officers was positioned.

Court records say that Ackerman referred to the helmet as his “war trophy” and took the helmet with him back to New Hampshire. The FBI recovered the helmet from Ackerman’s home in June of 2022.

This case is being prosecuted by the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Columbia and the Department of Justice National Security Division’s Counterterrorism Section. Valuable assistance was provided by the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of New Hampshire.

So it turns out that this Nazi belongs to the same Nazi group named in the JMG post just before this one for menacing a drag show.
