North Carolina’s Stanly County Press reports:
A former pastor and founder of a ministry to help individuals dealing with substance use problems has been arrested for sex crimes against children. Stanly County Sheriff’s Office said it received a report May 30 of sexual assault involving a juvenile.
Following an investigation, detectives charged Lawrence “Larry” Francis Wilkins, 44, with four counts of felony indecent liberties with a child and four counts of misdemeanor sexual battery. Wilkins had his first court appearance Tuesday. His next court date is July 10.

A 2022 report from this outlet notes that he had left his post as pastor of a nondenominational church to open faith-based sober living facilities where he teaches the “spiritual aspects of recovery.” There’s also this: “He still is a pastor and gathers with a small congregation for worship in a private home each Sunday.” And as you can see below, he has a Christian YouTube channel.
