Ramaswamy: As President I’ll Pardon Trump On Day 1

Politico reports:

Longshot GOP presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy says if he was elected he would pardon Trump. In a statement late Thursday, the 37-year-old biotech executive echoed Trump’s criticism of the special prosecutor, saying there were “two tiers of justice,” with Trump subject to a different standard than Biden.

“It would be much easier for me to win this election if Trump weren’t in the race, but I stand for principles over politics. I commit to pardon Trump promptly on January 20, 2025 and to restore the rule of law in our country,” he said. Ramaswamy, who has polled in the single digits in the GOP primary, is unlikely to be the next president.

Republican presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy says he’s “privileged to join my favorite hate group and extremist group today.”

The multi-millionaire entrepreneur headlined a Moms for Liberty town hall Thursday in New Hampshire, the state that holds the first primary and second overall contest in the Republican presidential nominating calendar.

He said he “was proud to be the first GOP presidential candidate to sign the Moms for Liberty pledge. I did it on the spot without apology at CPAC.” Ramaswamy’s appearance comes just two days after the conservative parental rights group was designed as an extremist organization by the SPLC.
