Trump Cultists Claim The Obamas Murdered Their Chef

The New York Times reports:

A personal chef to the Obama family died over the weekend after he was seen struggling in the water while paddleboarding near the former first family’s home on Martha’s Vineyard, the Massachusetts State Police said on Monday.

The body of the chef, Tafari Campbell, 45, of Dumfries, Va., who was visiting the Vineyard, was found just before 10 a.m. Monday about 100 feet from shore in Edgartown Great Pond in water about eight feet deep by the Massachusetts Environmental Police.

Former President Barack Obama and Michelle Obama were not home at the time of the accident, the state police said. Mr. Campbell’s survivors include his wife, Sherise, and twin boys, Xavier and Savin.

Media Matters reports: 

QAnon conspiracy theorist Liz Crokin alleged that “it’s about time we start discussing the Obama Body Count” and asked of Campbell, “What did he know?”

Conspiracy theorist Roger Stone shared a screenshot of an article on Campbell’s death and implied that his death was purposeful, saying, “Clearing the decks for her 2024 candidacy. Tying up the loose ends #MichelleObama2024.”

White nationalist Stew Peters posted, “Clinton White House Chef: DEAD. Obama White House Chef: DEAD. If I’m Joe Biden’s chef, I’m quitting and getting FAR AWAY from that family.”

QAnon grifter Ron Watkins asked, “Did Obama’s chef know too much? Was he planning to talk?”

Right-wing conspiracy theorist Matt Wallace asked, “What really happened here? Drunk? Drugged? Murdered? RELEASE THE FOOTAGE!!!”

On the far-right message board The Donald, users claimed that Campbell’s death was intentional and pushed other bigoted conspiracy theories.

Musk reply guy Matt Wallace, who has 1.1 million followers, is leading the pack.
