Hate Pastors To Debate: “Is The Earth Flat Or Round?”

The far-right Christian site Charisma News reports:

In a rare ecclesiastical event, Global Vision Bible Church is set to host a spirited debate on the age-old question of whether the Earth is flat or round. The debate, scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 2, at 6 pm CST, will feature two esteemed pastors, each fervently defending their views and invoking biblical support.

Pastor Greg Locke of Global Vision Bible Church, a proponent of the belief that the Bible aligns with a spherical Earth, will face off against Pastor Dean Odle, Founder and Senior Pastor of Fire & Grace Church of Opelika, Alabama, who passionately argues for a flat Earth perspective.

Both pastors have actively engaged their respective congregations, building anticipation for the event. Passions are indeed running high among the congregations, but the prevailing sentiment is a shared commitment to seeking truth. Both sides are united in prayer, hoping that, ultimately, the debate will bring glory to Jesus Christ.

Locke, who is a regular speaker at QAnon conferences, earned national ridicule last year year when he complained that he was getting dildos in the mail after “exposing” six witches among his congregation.

As you may recall, a gay couple shouting “hail Satan” crashed Locke’s book burning in February 2022 and claimed to have thrown a bible onto the bonfire.

Pastor Dean Odle ran for governor of Alabama last year, finishing fourth in the GOP primary with 1.8% of the vote, which he, of course, blamed on election fraud.

Odle has published several books, including a defense of flat earth batshittery. From the Amazon description:

RELATED: Locke, of course, is most infamous for claiming that there’s no such thing as COVID and that the vaccine is a Satanic/Nazi plot by the deep state to take away bibles and guns. He first appeared on JMG in 2020 when he threatened to kick in the teeth of a teenage Dunkin’ Donuts employee for asking him to wear a mask in the store. Shortly afterwards, Christian sites alleged that Locke had been cheating on his wife with a much younger church secretary. He and his wife then divorced and he married his alleged mistress. Locke was banned by Twitter in November 2021 but his account was restored after Musk took over.
