ABC News’ Martha Raddatz pressed Burgum repeatedly about the former president targeting his fellow 2024 GOP hopeful by mangling her birth name — Nimarata — and sharing conspiracy theories suggesting she may not be eligible to be president because of her background.
As Burgum attempted to sing Trump’s priases, Raddatz held his feet to the fire over the Trump Haley attack that critics see as blatantly racist. “I think it’s politics,” said Burgum. “You know, Joe Biden launched his campaign a couple weeks ago with a set of personal attacks on President Trump.”
