MTG Fined $12,000 Over Illegal Fundraising For PAC

The Messenger reports:

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, R-Ga., was fined $12,000 after the Federal Election Commission determined she illegally fundraised for the Stop Socialism Now PAC, which is aligned with Greene, according to a conciliation agreement made public Friday.

The fine was levied over online ads for the super PAC in which Greene asks for donations to finance the Georgia Senate runoff elections in January 2021. She shared the ad clip on her own accounts on Facebook and X, formerly known as Twitter.

The ads were posted in late 2020 and early 2021, and solicited donations on a link, according to documents.
