Cultists Float Homocon Extremist As Next RNC Chair

The right wing American Spectator reports:

Scott Presler’s name has been floated as a successor to McDaniel for years, particularly after the GOP’s inability to materialize a red wave in the 2022 midterm elections.

This week, Trump mega fan Laura Loomer claimed that McDaniel “may” announce her resignation at the Winter Meeting, which starts today. The replies again pressed RNC committee members to replace her with Presler.

Prior to all this, Presler was a co-founder of Gays for Trump during the 2016 election. As Presler says, his long hair makes people think he is a liberal — and then he surprises them by talking about “America First.”

From a 2023 Politico Playbook report:

He previously worked with and reported to the RNC as a Republican Party of Virginia operative until the party suddenly cut ties in August 2016. According to three people familiar with the circumstances, Presler engaged in sexual activity inside a Virginia Beach office the RNC shared with the state party — and posted explicit pictures of the encounter on Craigslist. Yes, you read that right. Craigslist.

After party officials were made aware of the photos, Presler was confronted about what had happened and — seeing the writing on the wall — resigned. Federal campaign finance records confirm the state party stopped paying Presler just two months before the 2016 election. Reached by phone Wednesday, Presler hung up on Playbook, and he did not respond to subsequent messages detailing the allegation.

Presler is a 6-foot-5 rising star on the right known for his Fabio-like hair and organizing volunteer trash cleanups and voter registration drives in large cities, where he decries Democratic leaders who he says help “foreign nationals” and “illegal aliens” instead of veterans. He planned so-called “stop the steal” rallies and was on the Capitol grounds the day of the insurrection, which he has described as “the largest civil rights protest in American history.”

The Southern Poverty Law Center has dubbed Presler the lead activism strategist for anti-Muslim hate group ACT for America, saying he was the main coordinator of the group’s “March Against Sharia” rallies in 2017. “The nationwide events attracted various factions of the radical right, including white nationalists, neo-Nazis and anti-government extremists — all of whom were united by anti-Muslim animus,” SPLC reported.

As the first linked report above notes, some of the same people who are attacking Democratic Sen. Ben Cardin over the now-infamous Senate hearing room gay sex tape are pushing Presler as RNC chair.
