Newsweek reports:
A Black woman who went viral after hugging Donald Trump this week says meeting the former president was a “learning experience.”
On Friday, Michaelah Montgomery, the founder of the Conserve the Culture organization, spoke with Fox News’s Fox & Friends co-host Lawrence Jones about her recent meeting with the former president at a Chick-fil-A in Atlanta, Georgia.
Earlier this week, a video went viral on social media capturing Montgomery hugging Trump at Chick-fil-A, where he purchased food for dozens of supporters. Trump’s deputy director of communications, Margo Martin, shared a video of the interaction on X.

I knew it! Trump’s Chick-fil-A stop was a staged photo op with Black Republican supporters. Michaelah Montgomery, the Black woman who told Trump that “we support you,” actually runs a conservative group and worked with Candace Owens’s Blexit Foundation. 😏 pic.twitter.com/IvQlb200T6

Trump’s viral hug at Chick fil A with a black woman was as fake as his phone call to murdered Ruby Garcia’s family. This depraved scumbag will use anything as a political ploy. https://t.co/0lEFZYYzQK
