Politico reports:
President Joe Biden attempted to calm the panic about the viability of his candidacy in the hours after his disastrous debate performance, telling supporters at a campaign rally on Friday that despite not being as young as he used to, “I know how to tell the truth.”
“I know I’m not a young man, to state the obvious,” he said, to a crowd of people cheering. “I don’t walk as easy as I used to. I don’t speak as smoothly as I used to. I don’t debate as well as I used to.
“But I know what I do know: I know how to tell the truth. I know right from wrong. And I know how to do this job. I know how to get things done. And I know like millions of Americans know, when you get knocked down you get back up.”

Observers on social media noted the contrast between last night’s debate and Biden’s vigorous rally speech today, with some attributing the difference to Biden feeding off the wildly enthusiastic crowd, which interrupted him many times with “four more years” chants. Others say that Biden was simply ill last night with a reported cold and is obviously feeling much better today.

Watching the Biden rally live in Raleigh on twitter and Joe Biden is strong, clear and energized even with his cold. Last night was hard to watch, but I’m still voting for the guy who cares about this country and isn’t in it just for himself and to stay out of prison.
