Christian Nationalist Oklahoma Schools Chief: From Now On Teachers Will Lecture Students From The Bible

After getting smacked down by the Oklahoma Supreme Court yesterday after his attempt to fund a Catholic school using tax dollars, Schools Superintendent Ryan Walter announced today that from this day forward every public school in the state will be required to have a Bible in the classroom and teach from it.

The white Christian nationalist was elected in 2022 with the goal of transforming the public school system into a fundamentalist Christian laboratory.

Under his new policy, students and teachers of other faiths will not have to option of opting out or refusing this requirement. Walters made it clear today that all students will receive Christian indoctrination:

Walters has also vowed that children will be taught about the “greatness” of Donald Trump.

Walters recently hired Chaya Raichik of Libs Of TikTok infamy to help oversee Oklahoma’s public school libraries.

He is widely expected to run for governor when Gov. Kevin Stitt is term-limited out of office.

Walters also appeared here in January 2024 when he joined the Trump campaign to “stop the cancer of teachers unions.”

In August 2023, Walters approved far-right PragerU’s climate change-denying, anti-LGBTQ, racist videos for use in Oklahoma public schools.

The FBI is currently investigating Walters’ department for misspending $1.7 million in education funds on items such as “kitchen appliances, power tools, furniture, and entertainment.”
