FL Sheriff Makes Madison Cawthorn “Honorary Deputy”

The Meidas Touch reports:

Former GOP Rep. Madison Cawthorn announced that he has been “sworn in as an honorary deputy” in Lee Country, Florida where he currently resides. Cawthorn moved to Florida from North Carolina after being defeated in the 2022 GOP primary.

Cawthorn wrote that “local, constitutional, law enforcement that answers to the people is what our founding fathers intended.” Cawthorn also noted that, “the Lee County sheriff’s office puts the fear of God into those who wish ill on our community.”

The honorary deputization comes just over 1 month after Cawthorn carelessly slammed into a Florida Highway Patrol car. Cawthorn also has a history of other traffic violations, having his drivers license revoked, and has been in trouble for knife and gun violations.
