GOP Bill Defunds Salary Of Secret Service Director

Denver’s Fox affiliate reports:

Rep. Lauren Boebert announced Monday that she introduced legislation to “hold Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle accountable” after the attempted assassination of former President Donald Trump at a rally in Pennsylvania.

A portion of the bill included in a press release said it would “prohibit the use of federal funds for the salary of the Director of the United States Secret Service.” The act was labeled as the “Secret Service Accountability Act.” It has eight cosponsors, all of whom are members of the Republican party.

Boebert has also pointed to President Joe Biden after the shooting and claimed in an interview with FOX31 that a July 8 statement to donors to “put Trump in the bullseye” was a call for political violence.
