The Arizona Mirror reports:
“Americans are waking up to the truth about disastrous Democrat policies,” Lake said. She called Gallego “Biden’s favorite congressman” and accused Gallego and other Democrats of handing over the control of Arizona’s border to drug cartels and blamed them for the fentanyl overdose deaths of young people in the Grand Canyon State.
“The solutions, guys, are really simple,” Lake said. “First of all, stop the Bidenvasion and build the wall. Easy.” The crowd quickly followed Lake’s statements with chants of “build the wall.” Lake also accused Gallego of voting to allow undocumented immigrants to vote, something that Gallego’s campaign quickly called a “blatant lie.”
The Arizona Republic reports:
Kari Lake had her five minutes under the sun Tuesday at the Republican National Convention and spent precisely none of it trying to broaden her base.
It was a made-for-MAGA moment — certainly not the stuff of a candidate who desperately needs to figure out a way to appeal to those McCain Republicans and independents she spent three years savaging.
Instead, she began with her signature attack on the media then segued over to Rep. Ruben Gallego, falsely claiming that he “voted to let millions of people who poured into our country illegally cast a ballot in this upcoming election.” Never mentioning, of course, that it’s already against federal law for non-citizens to vote.
