Feds Seize 35 Devices From Far-Right SC State Rep

Charleston’s ABC affiliate reports:

Thirty-five devices were seized from a South Carolina representative for Lexington County in August, according to a federal document filed on Thursday.

A criminal indictment against Rep. RJ May, R-Lexington, is expected within the next three months, according to the unsealed federal filing. It’s unclear what charges are expected to be brought against May, who has been serving in the South Carolina legislature since 2021.

The filing shows Homeland Security Investigations agents seized devices like cell phones, hard drives and thumb drives from the Republican lawmaker on Aug. 5. May, a hardline conservative who was the former vice chair of the South Carolina Freedom Caucus.
