Phil Robertson’s family is sharing an update on their patriarch’s health. On the Friday, Dec. 6 edition of the Unashamed with the Robertson Family podcast, the Duck Dynasty alum’s son, Jase, revealed that his father is in the “early stages” of Alzheimer’s disease.
“Phil’s not doing well. I think I spoke on the 1000th podcast. We were trying to figure out the diagnosis, but according to the doctors, they are sure that he has some sort of blood disease causing all kinds of problems,” he said.
“And he has early stages of Alzheimer’s. So, if you put those things together, he’s just not doing well. He’s really struggling,” he added.

Robertson last appeared here in 2020 when he endorsed the “ex-gay” Freedom March, which at the time was led by an anti-LGBTQ activist who later came out as transgender.
In 2019, Robertson appeared here when he declared that he doesn’t need universal healthcare because Jesus will raise him from the dead.
In 2016, Robertson starred in a Christian nationalist “documentary” directed by Steve Bannon, who at that time was Trump’s campaign manager.
Also in 2016, Robertson gave a speech at a right wing conference in which he blamed the US murder rate on gays. Yes, really.
Aaand later in 2016, Robertson appeared at a rally for then-presidential candidate Ted Cruz to declare that same-sex marriage is a “perverted evil.”
Of note, at the same rally mentioned above, Robertson called Trump a “washed up reality star.”
In a flurry of 2014 appearances here, Robertson said that God only gives STDs to “immoral people,” that “all Muslims and all Chinese are controlled by Satan,” and that he’s “as much as a homophobe as Jesus was.”
