Washington DC’s NBC affiliate reports:
D.C. police confirm they are investigating an alleged assault of a 27-year-old woman by U.S. Rep. Cory Mills, a Republican representing a district northeast of Orlando, calling it an active criminal investigation. The first police report said: “(Her significant other for over a year) grabbed her, shoved her, and pushed her out of the door.” The report says she showed the officer “bruises on her arm which appeared fresh.”
The first report goes on to note that during a phone call between the significant other and alleged victim, she “let officers hear Subject 1 [now identified by MPD as Mills] instruct her to lie about the origin of her bruises. Eventually, Subject 1 made contact with police and admitted that the situation escalated from verbal to physical, but it was severe enough to create bruising.”
The New York Post reports:
Sarah Raviani, the co-founder of Iranians for Trump, is listed as the victim on a Metropolitan Police Department report acquired by The Post, which says the alleged assault took place around midday Wednesday in a penthouse apartment a short walk from the National Mall. Mills, who is married to an Iraqi refugee who later gained American citizenship and has two sons, is in his second term.
In a statement Friday, Raviani appeared to absolve Mills of any wrongdoing. “Wednesday, I reached out to law enforcement to address a personal matter. Several factors influenced my decision to involve the authorities. I had just returned from a 14-hour flight, severely jet-lagged and sleep-deprived. Additionally, I had been drinking during my vacation and had a drink in front of me when the officers arrived, which contributed to my emotional state,” Raviani said.
Last month Mills announced his intent to run for Marco Rubio’s former Senate seat in 2026.
Mills first appeared on JMG in May 2022 when he threatened to attack journalists with the same tear gas that was used against Black Lives Matter protesters.
Mills’ company makes that tear gas as well as well as hand grenades, inert versions of which he handed out to House reps last year.
In 2023, Fox amplified Mills’ false claim that a Gold Star family was forced to pay $60,000 to retrieve their soldier son’s remains from Afghanistan. Fox then ignored pleas from the Marine Corps to retract their story.
