Breitbart Reporter Named Chief Spox For US Navy

“Hi, I’m Kristina Wong. I’m pleased to announce I’ve just been sworn in as director of communications and chief spokesperson for the secretary of the Navy. My job is to keep you up to date on what the secretary’s been doing, his top priorities, and happenings from across the Navy and Marine Corps. Secretary Phelan has been working hard every day on ship-building, maintaining our maritime dominance, and improving the health, welfare, and morale of our sailors and marines. I look forward to keeping you posted.” – Breitbart reporter Kristina Wong.

CBS News reports:

Wong filed a story for Breitbart Tuesday evening on the ouster of Dan Caldwell, a top adviser to Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth. Wong’s story did not disclose that she was being considered for a position at the Pentagon while working as a Pentagon correspondent for Breitbart — a break from traditional ethical norms of journalism.

The code of ethics from the Society of Professional Journalists states that journalists should “act independently” from the people and institutions they cover and “avoid conflicts of interest, real or perceived. Disclose unavoidable conflicts.”
